LASIK Eye Surgery in Miami
Dr. Cory Lessner performs sophisticated forms of laser eye surgery using highly advanced laser equipment. Before receiving treatment, his Miami laser eye surgery patients meet with him and his team at the Millennium Laser Eye Centers to discuss the patient's vision correction needs and to undergo a full eye evaluation. During this time, Dr. Lessner will discover if there are any factors that may impede his ability to perform LASIK, such as extreme refractive errors. Millennium Laser Eye Centers offers additional forms of vision correction for patients who are not suitable candidates for LASIK surgery.
Additional Vision Correction Options for Miami Patients
For patients who are deemed unfit for LASIK surgery due to thin corneas, Dr. Lessner often recommends alternative methods of vision correction. One option, known as photo refractive keratectomy (PRK), involves the removal of the surface cells of the cornea and the sculpting of the underlying tissue with a laser. The surface cells will then regenerate within 72 hours under a bandage lens. Another option is the LASEK procedure. In this procedure, a surface layer of cells is removed from the cornea prior to the application of the laser energy. Unlike with PRK, however, the layer of cells is returned to its original location following surgery. Dr. Lessner has many years of experience performing these surgical LASIK alternatives.
