LASIK Eye Surgery in New Jersey
As a highly experienced New Jersey laser eye surgery specialist, Dr. Richard Norden recognizes that each patient requires a customized approach in order to achieve the best possible results. This is why he performs thorough presurgical consultations. During this time, he carefully evaluates each patient's refractive errors and vision correction needs to recommend the most appropriate procedure. While some patients benefit from traditional LASIK in New Jersey, others achieve better results through Custom LASIK surgery.
On the day of surgery, Dr. Norden carefully prepares each patient by administering anesthetizing eye drops and placing special retainers over the eyelids. The retainers prevent the eyelids from moving during surgery. Next, Dr. Norden creates a very thin layer of cornea known as the corneal flap. He then moves the corneal flap to the side in order to expose the underlying tissues. Next, Dr. Norden applies a precisely predetermined amount of laser energy to the eye. Dr. Norden then completes the surgery by replacing the corneal flap. After the surgery is completed, most New Jersey LASIK patients notice significant improvement in their vision within a few days.
