Dr. Amin Ashrafzadeh is an exceptionally talented ophthalmologist who has helped numerous Stockton / Modesto LASIK and cataracts patients realize their vision correction goals. Dr. Ashrafzadeh received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, he performed an ophthalmology residency at Boston University. Dr. Ashrafzadeh has also completed advanced cornea and refractive surgery fellowship training at the combined Tufts University / Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston program.

To facilitate this goal, he uses many advanced surgical technologies and techniques, including the IntraLase femtosecond laser. This device is used for creation of very precise, extremely thin corneal flaps. IntraLase-created corneal flaps are significantly smoother than flaps created with microkeratome (a mechanical bladed instrument). He begins each cataracts procedure with a careful evaluation of the patient's current prescription, eye health and overall medical history. He uses this information to recommend the most suitable intraocular lens implants (IOLs). During cataract surgery, Dr. Ashrafzadeh removes patient's clouded lenses and replaces them with precisely matched IOLs that can correct for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Ashrafzadeh offers a wide range of IOLs, including ReSTOR, ReZoom and Toric IOLs.
While cataract surgery used to be a major procedure, today's advanced surgical techniques have made it a relatively painless, quick surgery that can be completed in less than half an hour.
