Laser Eye Surgery in Long Island with Dr. Eric Donnenfeld
Dr. Donnenfeld has an outstanding surgical record of 20 years' experience and more than 40,000 successful laser vision correction procedures, making him one of the most experienced LASIK Long Island specialists. He combines his extensive experience and education with several top-of-the-line technologies to give patients remarkable results within a safe environment. He uses three custom laser platforms that are used in blade-free IntraLase LASIK, including the VISX Star S4 IR laser, the Alcon autonomous laser, and the Bausch and Lomb Technolas laser.
He begins the procedure by charting all of the flaws in the eye's cornea using sophisticated wavefront-guided mapping technology. Using this unique "fingerprint of the eye," he calibrates the excimer laser. With top-of-the-line laser platforms, Dr. Donnenfeld creates a small flap in the surface of the cornea. Then, he administers the excimer laser to reshape and correct for flaws in the cornea before the flap is returned to its original position. The entire procedure lasts approximately 20 minute, with Long Island LASIK patients being released to return home soon after the procedure.
In addition to LASIK, Dr. Eric Donnenfeld offers photorefractive keratectomy and conductive keratoplasty. He also offers a wide range of intraocular lens implants (IOLs), including accommodating, phakic and multifocal IOLs.
