LASIK Eye Surgery in Vancouver / Edmonton

Dr. King, along with his fellow surgeons at CLEARLY LASIK, performs sophisticated forms of laser eye surgery using state-of-the-art laser equipment. Prior to treatment, he performs a one-on-one consultation with prospective LASIK Vancouver patients. During this time, he learns about the patient's vision correction needs and evaluates them for any refractive errors and overall eye health. While the advanced laser correction technologies available today have made LASIK suitable for most patients, some patients may benefit from other forms of refractive surgery procedures. Patients suffering from extreme refractive errors such as hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism are recommended to pursue other forms of vision correction, such as placement of Visian ICLs.

LASEK and PRK are variations of the well-known LASIK procedure. PRK, the "original" laser eye surgery procedure, does not require creation of the corneal flap. Instead, laser energy is applied directly to the cornea. LASEK procedure differs from LASIK in that LASEK uses a different method to create the corneal flap. During LASEK, an extremely thin lawyer of the epithelial cells is lifted from the eye's surface using a special alcohol solution. Because the flap is significantly thinner than the flap created during LASIK procedure, LASEK is appropriate for many patients with thin corneas.

Cataract Surgery with Premium IOLs in Edmonton / Victoria

During cataract surgery, Dr. King replaces Vancouver cataracts patients' clouded natural lenses with advanced intraocular lens implants (IOLs). He uses premium IOLs, such as Crystalens, ReStor and ReZoom. Premium IOLs function similarly to healthy natural lenses and provide clear vision at various distances. Dr. King uses the most advanced cataract surgery techniques to help patients feel very little or to no discomfort during the procedure. Vancouver cataract surgery patients can return home within hours of the procedure. Shortly after the procedure, patients often report greatly improved and clearer vision. The results of cataract surgery are permanent and allow patients to enjoy clear vision for several years afterward.
